Well I guess it depends if you're talking about Vow of Strength, or Vow of Silence (would be nice if u guys were clearer on that).

I have recently gone through EotN with my Dervish, and fiddled and experimented with the builds a bit. From a PvE perspective, these were my findings:
(for the record: I was not happy with any build, but eventually settled on Zealous vow).
Avatar of Balthazar has the following advantages:
-it is not removable. Quite important in PvE, where you face masses of enchantment removers.
-it offers a very high armour boost, which is important for H/H play - AI parties focus on the player's target and if the player dies, the loss of focus can be a problem.
-the running speed boost is good for those lazy long distance trips and to make sure you are the one the enemies focus on when you charge in.
-the holy damage conversion is nice. The Scythe has a lot of damage, however, the damage is quickly neutralized by enemy armour - you do massive damage to squishies but barely dent the enemy warriors. So, every little bit counts.
Now, I personally do not think it is a particularly good skill, or rather, I have not found a proper use for it, but these advantages have not been mentioned so far.

But AoB is crap in both forms, PvE and PvP now.
With the nerf to Pious Assault, people have gone back to AoM Dervs.
And we all know AoM is the best Dervish Elite Skill, amirite?

I've seen several D/A VoS builds that work excellently.

Considering that I started this a crazy long time ago, and it seems that we will never come to a conclusion, please, any admin, lock this baby.
Edit: I started this 3 months ago .
